Unchanged since 1975, our mission remains our “raison d'être”: to help men and women from different cultures and backgrounds to communicate and understand each other better.

Our commitments

A commitment to society
When CERAN was founded in 1975, founders Monique and René Bastin wanted to include an inspiring commitment to society in the company’s mission: to help men and women from different cultures and backgrounds to communicate and understand each other better.
This strong commitment to placing people and their development at the heart of our corporate mission has always guided CERAN throughout the different chapters of its history and its talents in the positions they have taken.
Our corporate values and culture, embodied daily by our talents, also contribute to our mission and inspire our learners.
Commitment to the learner
Our mission is reflected in our constant commitment to the learner.
This is reflected in the diversity of participants from all over the world that we welcome to our language immersion programs, both adults and juniors, as well as in our support for companies and their talents in meeting their intercultural challenges.
CERAN has always welcomed and trained participants from all backgrounds, rejecting all forms of discrimination.
The diversity of its participants has always been a priority, and CERAN has always worked to welcome and open up its training courses to as many people as possible.
A commitment to preserving heritage and the environment
The Château du Haut-Neubois, the cradle of our history, was built in 1908 and acquired in 1983, enabling us to contribute to the preservation of an iconic monument in the spa town of Spa, set in a green setting in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes.
CERAN is keen to combine heritage preservation with sustainable development, and over the years has undertaken a number of site renovation and development projects to offer a unique, environmentally-conscious learning experience.
Our commitment to CSR
Inspired by the CSR commitment and approach of the Châteauform' group, which it joined in 2019, CERAN has undertaken a formalization of its present commitment and future vision on various CSR themes.
We have undertaken to be supported by an independent organization, Ecovadis, in order to highlight our societal commitments and identify areas for progress.
We have chosen to focus our efforts and commitment on two specific social issues.
The first is the theme of diversity and inclusion, echoing our corporate mission and motivated by a long-term partnership with the Live in Color association.
The second is the carbon footprint of our training courses, particularly distance learning, a fast-growing activity within the Group.

King Baudoin Foundation
Among CERAN’s actions to promote diversity and inclusion, we have forged a partnership with the King Baudoin Foundation to support the training of young people aged 12 to 17 taking part in the Boost program.
Live in color
For several years now, we have also been supporting a specific societal project linked to the education of adults and children from immigrant backgrounds.
This project was initiated by the Live in color association, a citizens’ initiative born in 2015.
