ACTIVITY LEADER FOR THE LANGUAGE SUMMER CAMP 2025

Prerequisites:

  • Perfect command of ENGLISH (mother tongue or bilingual)
  • Allow to work in Belgium (European citizenship or valid work permit)
  • Experience in organising activities for children and teenagers
  • Have at least one specific area of expertise (sport, art, etc.)
  • Be sensitive to multiculturalism and the difficulties encountered by young people when learning a foreign language
  • Enjoy working with children, be enthusiastic and creative
  • Have a sense of responsibility and enjoy working as part of a team

  •  Be ready to follow an Online and on-site training (MANDATORY)

Your mission:

The Activity Leaders are key members of the CERAN Academy staff. Their role is to provide motivating, high-quality activities and to encourage trainees to speak the target language at all times. They must ensure the safety of the young people during all activities on-site and off-site during excursions.

  • Promote the target language and its use by all trainees
  • Organise, prepare and run daily activities
  • Supervise and lead the trainees on Wednesday and weekend excursions: guided visits, planned activities, free time and coach journeys
  • Welcoming trainees and their parents
  • Provide entertainment during breaks and evening meals
  • Help the night team to put the trainees to bed
  • Ensure that equipment and facilities are used properly
  • Comply with and ensure compliance with the onsite rules
  • Ensure the well-being of trainees
  • Participate in daily meetings of the animation team

  • Additional skills (not compulsory): Knowledge of foreign languages, First aid certificate, Advanced Water Rescue certificate, driving licence

ABOUT CERAN ACADEMY

CERAN, part of the Chateauform' group, organises intensive language courses for professional and private adult clients. These complete immersion courses are offered in residential or non-residential formulas in several countries.

The CERAN Academy also offers residential and intensive language courses for young people aged 9 to 17 (JUNIORS) during the summer school holidays, in French, English, Dutch and German in St Roch Ferrières in Belgium. The main difference between the CERAN centres and other language schools is complete immersion. Every member of staff encourages trainees to speak only the target language throughout their stay.
